Kingston Educational Institute
The Late Great Utpal Bhattacharjee, the pathfinder of our institute, was born on December 12, 1957, as the second son of the late Ranjit Kumar Bhattacharjee and the late Malati Bhattacharjee. He was brought up in a humble family and spent his childhood in Kumartuli, residing in a rented house. His father, an employee of the Ordinance Factory, Dumdum, relocated the family to a government quarter at 18, Mall Road, Dumdum, in 1970. Thus, by the unseen hands of fate, he anchored himself in the Northern Suburbs of Kolkata, his workplace. The phrase "Struggle and Success" epitomized his firm resolve. Despite facing the harsh reality of poverty, he garnered valuable practical education and refined his soul through the crucible of existence. In his youth, he navigated the political tumult of Bengal, occasionally swayed by political ideologies, yet his prime motto remained consistent—to work hard, sacrifice for family, friends, neighbors, and uplift the weaker strata of society. His indomitable spirit and toughness propelled him to success in all aspects of life, earning him the title of the uncrowned leader of the locality.
The tragic self-immolation of his parents shook him to the core. Initially, he toiled as a laborer to eke out a meager livelihood, later finding employment in a press. Eventually, his self-confidence, personality, and prudence propelled him to venture into the supply of business materials and secure contracts with the Dumdum Municipality. He further ventured into real estate, earning fame for his honesty, goodwill, and punctuality within the business community.
His boundless dreams, imagination, and energy culminated in the establishment of Kingston Educational Institute. Despite facing numerous obstacles, including the machinations of unscrupulous individuals, he navigated the thorny path with foresight. Today, our institute flourishes on an 83-bigha campus, offering a range of recognized educational programs, including schools, degree colleges, law colleges, management colleges, and polytechnic colleges. His vision also led to the introduction of a 3-year law course and the establishment of a B.Ed college on our campus, reflecting his foresight.
A sports enthusiast, he generously financed football coaching camps, uncovering hidden talents under the guidance of renowned coaches. From cradle to grave, he uplifted countless individuals across various fields, earning him the admiration of all. His untimely passing on June 26, 2017, was a bolt from the blue, yet his legacy endures as the anchor of our institute.
He remains immortal in the hearts of all associated with Kingston Educational Institute. His generosity, decisiveness, moral fortitude, transparency, and honesty serve as guiding principles for our journey into the educational paradise of the future.
